“Rednex After the Rodeo — Just Wine, Stories, and Old Friends”
Urban Landgren — Mr. Rednex himself.
Thirty years of Cotton Eye Joe, chaos, and country charm.
What’s better than drinking wine in the summer sun, gossipin’ and sharing old memories?
My brother and I used to dance to Cotton Eye Joe when growing up.
I also liked the ballad Wish You Were Here — according to my friend, Max Martin said that song was the worst he ever produced.
Well, I liked it then.
Now when listening, I don’t feel the same way — the production is, like Max says, not that good.
And Rednex agree.
We’ve been friends since 2008. I used to hang out at his music store, 4Sound. One floor down, they sometimes hosted music nights — it was a bit like The Lyrics Board — a live music game where we’d shout out song titles, sing along, and try to outplay each other at the piano.
We went to a jazz concert — Chick Corea. I think it may have been his last before he passed from cancer. I don´t listen to a lot of jazz, but I´m so happy that i went.
Rednex has been a band for thirty years now — that’s a long ride in any boots.
This might actually be their final year, and yeah, it’s sad — but I get it.
All I’m hoping now is that I’m invited to the last big party. Wouldn’t miss that for the world.
