Thundermother — “You Can’t Handle Me” — and maybe they couldn’t

Here’s me with Filippa Nässil from Thundermother — this was the day I was asked to be in their music video for “You Can’t Handle Me,” written by the band and Andreas Carlsson.

It was peak Covid. The release party? Just the band and a few more of us. Small hotel room in Stockholm, Sweden.

I’ve always liked the track. It’s got punch. A little more pop/rock than what Thundermother fans might expect — polished, catchy, and confident. But I also know this wasn’t the direction the band originally aimed for.

Still — I was proud to be a small part of it.
A song about attitude, about being “too much” — and owning it. That’s always going to be my kind of anthem.

The song got great reviews, and lots of fans actually liked it. <3

Behind the scenes:
The video is about a ballerina and a fighter.
Guess which role I played?
yeah— the fighter.

I was supposed to fight in a cage wearing high heels. Because  everyone thought that would look so cool. I´m a martial artist so fighting in heels isn´t a problem.
But the owner of Nexus fight club, said “ — Those knife heels won’t go anywhere,  they’ll destroy the floor".  So the team and I said that we understood. And when he went upstairs, I put on my heels and did it anyway.  Just around the gym. That´s the Rebel in me, and how it works.

And in the end… the camera guy walked straight into my back kick.
I broke the lens. Not my fault.
But Thundermother loved it — and kept it for the final shot.
The guy flew back into the cage with the camera in his face.
What can I say? Sorry.

I hope you’ll like the video — we had so much fun making it.
