About Me
I’m Mikaela Hammarström — a Swedish singer-songwriter and freelance writer with bylines that cross borders.
I began writing music reviews at sixteen for my hometown newspaper in Åmål — and I’ve been writing stories ever since.
I’m a trained TV journalist with a background in sound engineering and music production from SAE Institute.
Over the years, my songs have found their way to artists in Sweden, while my writing — from essays to features — has reached international audiences, including Japan Today, where I published during my time living and studying in Tokyo.
I believe it’s important to always have a dream — a call in life.
But a dream shouldn’t stay just a dream. It has to be lived.
I have a natural way of connecting with people — many of the artists I’ve worked with have become both collaborators and friends.
The same goes for the film and TV world.
And if that weren’t enough? I also cover sports.
Let’s just say I’ve built strong connections across music, film, and sports — which makes me a perfect fit for any magazine looking for stories with heart, access, and edge.
My voice is poetic, loud, and not here to please everyone.
